Yo-Yo Financing Scam I purchased a Hyundai Palisade from Huffines Hyundai McKinney. From the very first interaction, this dealership was difficult, inconsistent, and dishonest. They originally were not the first choice; they called ME and invited me to come get the vehicle. I paid a cash down payment. I signed a complete retail installment sales contract. While sitting there for hours. The vehicle was delivered to me the same day. Both the dealership and I signed all paperwork. Finance manager Jamie Davison warned me on the first day that things were screwed up at that location and that she had only worked there a few days to clean up the mess. That was a sign. She turned out to be no better, incompetent, with no communication and horrible follow-through. After the sale was complete and I had the vehicle in my possession, the problems progressed. The lender they assigned my contract to, Global Lending, defamed and profiled me. Instead of standing by their customer and their executed contract, Huffines sided with the lender and began demanding I return the vehicle. Jamie Davison emailed me saying the vehicle needs to be returned. Salesperson Dante Nelson made promises about the vehicle. Nobody called me back when they said they would. Management is hiding and not handling the situation at hand. When I asked Jamie to provide the list of lenders they claimed to run my application through, she ignored me as she has from the start. She is very unprofessional and dishonest. They ran my credit with multiple lenders without my authorization after my contract was already signed, which is a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. They gave me no options, no solutions, and no respect. They completed a contract just to steal my money with full verification, then refused to accept the remaining payment, causing a hardship and a waste of my time. This is a classic yo-yo financing scam. They let you drive off the lot, take your money, then pull the deal out from under you. If you are considering purchasing from Huffines Hyundai McKinney. GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING BEFORE YOU HAND OVER ONE DOLLAR. Do not trust verbal promises. Do not trust their finance team. Management, including Tom Talbot, was copied on every communication, but no one from leadership ever reached out directly to resolve this. Complaints are filed, and I am pursuing all available legal remedies. No one should have to go through what I am going through.

Last week they sold me the new car with dents on hood. They waited for me to sign the paperwork and then they disclosed dents on hood. Bad business practice. There was a pretty big set back on my purchase resulting in my vehicle having to be towed in less than 24 hours on a Sunday when they were closed. He not only showed up to meet me and the tow truck but also provided me transportation. He didn’t have to do any of that which goes to show you it wasn’t just another sale for him! I have owned various Hyundai models for the past twenty years. During that time I’ve lived in two different states and have taken my vehicles to many different dealerships for service. Huffines Hyundai McKinney is currently the nearest Hyundai dealership to my home and I have taken my cars there for the past 8 years. I can honestly say they offer a very consistent level of service at the service desk. Unfortunately the level of service is somewhere between poor and terrible. They overpromise and underdeliver, there is little to no communication, the communication you do get is rarely accurate. Back in 2019 my Genesis needed the transmission replaced. A transmission was sourced from a warehouse in Dallas quickly, it then took a month to complete the job. In 2022 my Veracruz needed a recall done. The job took over a week with multiple service advisors giving conflicting stories as to what was the status of the vehicle. The dealer says they offer loaner cars, but despite being promised one more than once I’ve never actually seen one. We are currently in the market to purchase a new Palisade, however the dealership is marking up these vehicles by thousands of dollars. Ultimately I recommend looking elsewhere for your Hyundai needs if you can.
